Jeuveau in Kansas City: When We Choose It at Eden
I'm Susan Testerman, NP — board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and the owner of Eden Aesthetics & Wellness in the KC Northland. Here's our take.
What Jeuveau actually is
All four U.S.-approved neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau) share the same active ingredient: botulinum toxin type A. Injected in micro-doses into specific muscles, the toxin temporarily quiets the nerve signal that tells those muscles to contract. The muscle relaxes, the skin above it stops creasing as deeply, and lines soften over a few weeks.
Jeuveau is FDA-approved specifically for the "11s" between the brows (glabellar lines), and we use it off-label for other dynamic-line areas the same way we use the others — forehead, crow's feet, lip flip, brow lift. Off-label use of neurotoxins is standard practice and well-supported by clinical experience.
When we choose Jeuveau at Eden
A few patient profiles where Jeuveau comes up most often in our consults.
The patient who wants newer. Some patients want the most recently developed option on principle. Jeuveau is the newest formulation in the U.S., and that matters to them.
The patient working a tighter budget. Jeuveau is sometimes priced slightly below Botox per unit. Same active molecule, different price point — for cost-sensitive patients getting their first treatment, this can be the right starting place.
The patient whose Botox results have plateaued. If your Botox isn't lasting as long as it used to, switching to a different formulation (Jeuveau, Xeomin, or Dysport) can sometimes reset the response. This is patient-by-patient — we'll talk through what's worth trying for you.
The patient curious about onset. Some studies suggest Jeuveau may kick in a day or two faster than Botox in some patients. The difference is small but real. If you have an event in 10 days, this can matter.
For most patients, Botox or Dysport is the right starting point. We use what works.
What to expect at your visit
Your Jeuveau visit at Eden looks exactly like a Botox visit. We do a full facial assessment, talk through your goals and what you don't want to lose, plan the dose around your anatomy, and inject.
The procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes once we've finished the consult. You'll start to notice results in 2 to 3 days, with full effect around 10 to 14 days. Duration is comparable to Botox — typically 3 to 4 months.
Side effects are usually minimal: an occasional small bruise at an injection site, a mild headache the first day, occasional pinkness. We go over anything specific to you during your visit.
Tox is one piece — the plan is the rest
A great neurotoxin result is part of a larger picture. Texture, tone, hydration, hormones, sleep, and stress all show up on your face too. At Eden we treat the patient, not the wrinkle.
If you've never had tox, your first visit with us starts with a real consult — not a price-per-zone menu. We'll figure out what you actually want and build a plan that gets you there.
We build plans, not just sell treatments.

If you've been around tox for a while, you've probably heard of Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin. Jeuveau is the one that joined the U.S. aesthetics market most recently, and it has a small but real following. At Eden we carry it because the right tool depends on the patient — and for some patients, Jeuveau is the right tool.
There's more than one toxin — and Jeuveau is the newest of the four.
